Any help is appreciated thanks in advance MR B. 0x80071b90 @ I guess I discovered the upper date to until which the program can function properly. Starting Windows Defender gave the same error as previously described (0x80071b90) and this problem can be resolved by setting the system clock to, say, the first of december and restarting the service. Anyway: Guess I'll uninstall the program.
Just wanted to confirm this story. Kind regards P.s. Point 2 in the Help-file: TIME-SENSITIVE SOFTWARE. The software will stop running on December 31, 2006. You will not receive any other notice. At that time he did have a problem with his system date set incorrectly. But here we are in 2007 and in fact Windows Defender Beta expired on the last day of 2006, so don't reset your system date. If your running Windows 2000 that operating system is no longer supported by Defender, if your running XP, the released non-Beta version of Windows Defender is available for download from Microsoft and it should install over the top of your Beta version without the need to uninstall it first. At least that's the intention. Ed; You're replying to a message that was posted on 7/17/06. At that time he did have a problem with his system date set incorrectly.
